Speaker of the parliament, Qasim Ibrahim has advised all MPs to remain faithful to the country and its people no matter which party they belong to.
Speaking at a ceremony held to welcome two new parliament members to JP, Qasim said that he wants all members to remain true to democratic principles and respect Islam and the constitution of the Maldives.
Qasim said that the parliament members should serve the country irrespective of their political affiliations and that is the principle of Islam as well.
In addition, he said that he wants to assure the people that JP will always want to strengthen the judiciary, and work for the development of the people.
