According to Indian media, Maldivian authorities have proposed a currency swap agreement with India. Maldivian trade minister Fayyaz proposed to make a currency swap agreement of 200 million dollars.
Fayaz proposed to swap currencies for 6 months and proposed not to use dollars as a medium of exchange during this period. In addition, Fayyaz proposed India to invest in the i-haven project.
Furthermore, Minister Fayyaz met with Indian business community and informed them about the business opportunities in the Maldives.
