Jumhoory Party has become the minority party of the parliament after MP Riyaz Rasheed joined the party last night.
Previously MDP was the minority party in the parliament. However after some of MDP’s MPs resigned to join the cabinet of the new administration their numbers dropped down to 17.
In the past few days many new MPs joined JP and in total JP has 20 parliament members now. With this, JP’s PG leader Abdullah Riyaz will become the minority leader of the parliament. Meanwhile JP’s leader Qasim Ibrahim is the speaker of the parliament.
