Speaker of the parliament Qasim Ibrahim have said that hosting international conferences will benefit Maldives and he will cooperate with it as much as he can.
Qasim made this statement while speaking at the ceremony held to initiate the countdown to the 45th convention of International Federation of Asian and Western Pacific Contractors Association (IFAWPCA) which will be held in the Maldives. Qasim said that since more than 1000 international companies will take part in the conference, Maldives will benefit from it.
Qasim said that this will benefit the construction industry of the Maldives immensely. He said that it will lead to opportunities to develop resorts and other buildings at cheaper prices. He said that, in addition the event will give a lot of exposure to Maldives.
Qasim Ibrahim also thanked the members of MACI, for their achievements stating that they started at a time when Maldivians had limited resources but now are chairing the largest organization in the world for contractors. He also stated that some members of MACI are global companies now.
Qasim Ibrahim is among the pioneers of Maldivian tourism industry and he has contributed to the development of the construction industry of Maldives in various ways over the years.
