Maldives Police Service has introduced neighborhood support service. Speaking to the press, acting CP Mohammed Hameed said that the service was introduced for Male’, Hulhumale’ and Villimale’ and it will be expanded to other regions in future.
He said that Male’ area has been divided into 4 regions and each region will have a senior officer in charge of the region and policemen under his command. He said that those policemen can be contacted 24/7. “We will publicize the number of those police officers” said Hameed.
He said that the neighborhood support service will work closely with the people.
