Economic Development Minister Fayyaz have said that the café’s operating at Hulhumale’ beach does not have any permits.
The minister tweeted saying that they found that the café’s were operating without any permits.
A man who spoke from Hulhumale’ said that due to the presence of the café’s the beaches are not as clean as it should be. He said that the people who want to enjoy the sea and the beach are also unable to do so because of the customers of the cafes.
Another person said that the café’s should be asked to stop using the beaches. He said that some cafes even dump their waste into the sea.
