Indian Ambassador to the Maldives Akhilesh Mishra have paid a courtesy call on Gender Minister Shidhatha Shareef.
In the meeting, they discussed about women empowerment and on ways to further strengthen the mechanisms to protect vulnerable groups.
Minister Shidhatha explained the pledges of the government, and what the ministry is doing to fulfil the pledges. She also shared the areas in which India can be of assistance in that regard.
Indian Ambassador expressed the Indian interest to assist Maldives in these fields and stated that the venture will bring developments to both India and Maldives.
