People’s National Congress the party made by former President Yameen has got 3000 members within few hours according to the party.
Elections Commission of the Maldives issued permission to continue the procedures to officially register the party yesterday. Former Vice President of PPM Abdullah Abduh Raheem is the official founder of the party.
He tweeted yesterday saying that within few hours they have got 3000 members to the party, which is the minimum amount required to officially register a party. The party will be officially registered once the forms are submitted and when the party holds a national assembly.
Former President Yameen said that they are trying to form a new party because a court case regarding PPM is going on and it is unclear how it would end.
