Environmental Protection Agency has fined a street litterer and publicized the details of the individual’s residence.
EPA tweeted saying that an individual living in the third floor of Handhuvareege littered Musthareemagu. This is the first time EPA publicized the information of an individual who littered the street. EPA stated that the matter was reported to the agency by Maldives Police Service and thanked for their assistance.
The constitution gives EPA the power to fine and publicize litterers. The regulations also obliges EPA to fine litterers by at least 300 Rufiyaa.
