Sheikh Mohammed Didi has requested the Elections Commission of the Maldives to form a new political party. The party’s name is National Reform Party.
According to the Vice President of the EC, Ibrahim Amjad, last week two new parties requested the EC’s approval to register. One of them is the National Reform Party by Didi and the second one is called Karisma Party.
Didi is a close associate of Dr.Shaheem the former chancellor of Islamic University of Maldives. Dr.Shaheem was also the running mate of former President Yameen in the last presidential elections. Didi actively campaigned for President Yameen in the elections.
