Maldives Police Service has stated that speed and surveillance cameras will be installed on the bridge and the highway connecting the bridge and Hulhumale’ within 3 months.
Funds were allocated for these two projects in this year’s state budget. Speaking on to the state media, Chief Station Inspector of Maldives Police Service Mohammed Hassan said that the technical survey and research required for the project has now been concluded.
He stated that action will be taken against those who violate traffic regulations on the bridge. He said that violators will receive an sms notifying that they have been fined and that they are now working on establishing that system.
