Former President of the Maldives, Maumoon Abdul Gayyoom has decided to intervene in the ongoing case of PPM in the Supreme Court.
A member of the party filed a case at the Civil Court requesting to handover PPM to Maumoon who was the former president of PPM as well. Maumoon decided to intervene in the case today.
PPM’s member Ali Ahmed filed the case at the Civil Court in September, but the Supreme Court started adjudicating the case. Supreme Court had a preliminary hearing regarding the case today.
Meanwhile, the leadership of PPM has formed a new party called PNC. President Yameen stated that they are forming a new party because they are not sure how the Supreme Court will issue a ruling regarding PPM.
