JP’s leader Qasim Ibrahim has stated that he will not ask to vote for any candidate until the party officially gives that person a ticket. He said that it will not be democratic to do so.
Speaking at the ceremony held to launch the campaign of Colonel (Rtd.) Mohammed Nazim, Qasim said that Nazim is a capable person but he will not ask the people to vote for Nazim before the party gives him a ticket. “Asking to vote for a specific candidate before a ticket is given will not be democratic. That will be a dictatorship” said Qasim.
Qasim noted that since Nazim served the country for 25 years, he will have a lot of experience.
Colonel Nazim is campaigning for JP’s ticket to run for Dhangenthi constituency. He will officially get a after a special committee formed by the party reviews his application.
