MDP has decided not to investigate the complaints filed by MP Nizar regarding the primary elections held by the party on Friday.
Nizar filed a complaint saying that 68 people voted twice. However MDP’s election committee stated that even if the 68 votes are invalidated Nizar will still not win the election since the winner Ibrahim Nazil got 203 votes more than Nizar.
Ibrahim Nazil is the husband of prominent lawyer Hisan Hussein. Nizar got a total of 627 votes while Nazim got 830 votes.
Nizar criticized MDP’s leadership for campaigning against him during the elections. Nizar said that MDP is in need of urgent reforms.
