International Medical and Diagnostic Center run by SIMDI company has signed an agreement with Navaloka Hospital of Lanka to introduce new services in Addu.
In a ceremony held to sign the agreement an official of Navaloka Hospital stated that they will send specialists to IMDC. In addition he said that if needed patients will be taken to Sri Lanka for further care.
Speaking at the ceremony the CEO of SIMDI group Dr.Shakeela said that they will introduce new services like neuro surgery in Addu. She said that since many services are not available in Addu many people have to travel to Sri Lanka for medicals. She said that once these services are introduced people who travel abroad from Addu for medical purposes will be reduced.
She said that Aasandha service is available from IMDC even now and said that they will try to provide Aasandha for patients who gets referred to Navaloka Hospital from IMDC.
IMDC was opened in 2008 and is the largest private medical center in Addu City.
