Home Minister Abdullah Imran have stated that former President Yameen does not have a significant presence in Maldivian politics anymore.
The minister made this statement while speaking on Avas Hukuru program. When asked whether he will work with President Yameen in politics in future, Imran said that he cannot say that he will not work with anyone, but he does not believe that President Yameen is in a position to do any political work anymore.
He said that he does not believe that there is any political work which can be done with former President Yameen. However Minister Imran said that he cannot say that there might not be such a situation in future.
Home Minister Imran was sentenced to 12 years in jail during President Yameen’s administration and spent a lot of time in jail. He was freed by the Supreme Court after the presidential elections in September 2018.
