Nazim to contest for Dhiggaru constituency

Former MP of Dhiggaru constituency Ahmed Nazim has announced that he will contest for Dhiggaru constituency in the upcoming parliamentary elections.

Nazim tweeted said that he is sure that the constituents of Dhiggaru will be loyal to him. Nazim who was also a former deputy speaker of the parliament will be contesting in the elections as an independent candidate.

Nazim won the seat for Dhiggaru in 2014 as well but he was convicted of corruption in 2015 and he lost his seat. However the Supreme Court overturned the court verdict on 13th December 2018 and hence he is free now.

After Nazim was jailed, Ahmed Faaris Maumoon contested for the seat and won the seat.
