Gender Minister Shidhatha Shareef has stated that it is unacceptable to abuse old people and hence she will take action against the man who attacked and harassed an old man in Addu City.
A video of a man attacking an old person was shared on social media yesterday. Many people criticized the person who attacked and the bystanders who took no action against it. Gender Minister Shidhatha tweeted saying that she will ensure that appropriate action is taken against the attacker.
Meanwhile, Commissioner of Police Mohammed Hameedh tweeted saying that Maldives Police Service is now investigating the matter.
