Elections Commission of the Maldives has formed a committee to investigate People’s National Congress after a member of the public filed a compliant saying that PNC was formed by using the assets and resources of People’s Progressive Party (PPM).
EC’s spokesperson Ahmed Akram said that the commission decided to form a committee today and that they were requested to investigate the matter within 2 days.
The commission consists of 2 lawyers from the Commission’s legal section and a lawyer from the Commission’s law firm.
According to EC, they will make a decision after the committee submits their findings to the commission.
