IGMH has arranged new services for inmates.
In a press conference held at the President’s Office today IGMH’s CEO announced that a certain amount of appointments are reserved for inmates and they have allocated two rooms to admit inmates. The rooms will be guarded by Maldives Correctional Service.
In addition if there is an outbreak of a disease in the jail, specialists will be sent to the jail. “diseases spread in the jail because many people have to stay in one cell, poor ventilation and not being able to consult doctors frequently” said an official.
The official stated that these issues are being addressed now.
