Jumhoory Party has awarded the party’s ticket to 36 individuals last night to contest in the upcoming parliamentary elections.
JP awarded the tickets after a council meeting held by the party last night. JP’s leader Qasim Ibrahim said that there is chance that the list might get revised and that the might contest for more constituencies.
The party’s council authorized the party’s leader to make the final decision on awarding the tickets. Qasim said that this decision was made because there is a chance that JP might work with other parties in the election and hence the final list of JP’s candidates might have to be changed.
Meanwhile Maldivian Democratic Party MDP has announced that they plan to contest for 86 out of the 87 seats.
