Maldives Immigration Service has begun issuing business visas from Addu City.
The service was officially launched by Mayor of Addu City Abdullah Sodiq. Speaking at the ceremony held to launch the service, the mayor said that this service will further develop the aviation sector in Addu City. He stated that the council received many complaints and that it was a huge challenge for the whole city because business visas were not issued from Addu City.
Speaking at the ceremony, Mohamed Ahmed Hussein the controller general of Immigration stated that Addu City is the first city other than Male’ to issue business visas.
He said that the Immigration always tries to develop their services. He also said that the passport services in Addu City will be further expanded.
