Ooredoo Maldives today announced that it will donate a Smart Campus, Digital Classroom which can hold  vocational trainings for the rehabilitation of people in detention, through its internationally recognized distance learning platform Ooredoo Smart Campus.

This special initiative was announced today in the presence of the Vice President of Maldives, H.E Faisal Naseem and the Minister of Science and Technology, Mr. Maleeh Jamaal, by the CEO of Ooredoo Maldives, Najib Khan during the vice-president’s visit to Ooredoo Headquarters this morning.

The visit also highlighted Ooredoo's invaluable support towards establishing a Digital Maldives, and discussed potential avenues for further collaboration in ensuring sustainable and inclusive access to digital services across the nation.

"Digital technologies have an unprecedented reach in providing new socio-economic opportunities to those who need it the most. We believe that accessing educational programs can support both young and older detainees in starting a new life, as a responsible member of the society. Smart Campus is a great tool for online education, and we're honored to provide this service free of charge for this wonderful initiative.”, said Ooredoo Maldives CEO Mr. Najib Khan

Ooredoo Smart Campus is a cloud based education solution which allows for a next generation learning experience. The solution is powered by Microsoft in Education. Ooredoo Smart Campus enables students and teachers to connect from anywhere in the Maldives over Ooredoo’s superfast 4G+ network and collaborate, as well as meet live in online interactive class, as it happens.

This collaborative Web conferencing environment enables students and educators to communicate synchronously (in real-time) using video and audio or through text chat, and to share presentations, documents and images on an interactive whiteboard.

As part of Ooredoo's corporate social responsibility efforts, Smart Campus also connects students across the nation to the free educational programs provided by Maldives Polytechnic.

Ooredoo Maldives will continue to innovate in its efforts to enrich lives, providing new and exciting opportunities for the development of the people of Maldives.
