Abdullah Ziyath the former Managing Director of Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Company (MMPRC) has been transferred to house arrest.
He is serving a jail term for his involvement in the MMPRC embezzlement case. Ahmed Lugman the media official of Maldives Correctional Service confirmed Ziyath’s transfer. However, he did not explain why Ziyath was transferred home.
Ziyath is serving an 8-year sentence at the moment. The PG is charging him for 33 other cases.
In addition to Ziyath former Vice President Adheeb and prominent businessman Hamid Ismail was jailed as well. However Haamidh Ismail is free now after he served his sentence.
