Former President of the Elections Commission Fuwadh Thaufeeq and four others have submitted forms to contest as independent candidates for constituencies in Male’. The other four candidates are Abdullah Afeef, Dr.Ibrahim Shiyam, Ahmed Musthafa and Mohammed Dilshan.
Fuwadh Thaufeeq will be contesting for Mahchan Goalhi South constituency. Abdullah Afeef is contesting for Henveyru South constituency while Mohammed Dilhan will be contesting for Henveyru North constituency. Dr.Ibrahim Shiyam will contest for Maafannu Central constituency and Ahmed Musthafa will contest for Maafannu North constituency.
The 5 independent candidates are contesting as one group. They also signed an agreement to act in a certain if they get elected to the parliament.
