Former President Mohammed Nasheed has met with the Indian External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj today.
In the meeting held today, the minister and President Nasheed discussed areas of mutual concern such as climate change and extremism.
After the meeting Nasheed tweeted saying that he and the minister had held a good discussion on the danger of Maldives falling into a debt trap as a result of “reckless borrowing” during former President Yameen’s administration.
Nasheed is in India to take part in a conference hosted by Jawaharlal Nehru University.
