People’s National Congress and Progressive Party of Maldives has requested to delay the parliamentary elections.
Speaking at a press conference held by the Progressive coalition today, the interim president of PNC, MP Abdullah Abduh Raheem said that they requested to delay the elections because they do not believe that a free and fair election can be held.
Meanwhile last night, PNC issued a press statement saying that the government is obstructing the campaign activities of the party.
Previously in 2017 the Elections Commission delayed the local council election on a request from PPM.
