Officials of PPM and PNC has requested President Ibrahim Mohammed Solih to free President Yameen.
MP Abdullah Abduh Raheem the interim president of PNC said that President Solih gave them time to express their grievances regarding the matter.
Former President Abdullah Yameen Abdul Gayyoom is detained at Maafushi prison after the PG requested the Criminal Court to detain him until the end of his trial.
Abduh Raheem did not reveal any details of the meeting held with President Solih, but said that the president gave very positive answers.
According to some sources President Yameen asked his party members to request the president to free him on his behalf.
PPM and PNC says that the court verdict to detain the former president is unconstitutional.
