Finance Ministry has revealed that 25 loans were taken with sovereign guarantees from the state from 1993 to 2018.
Many of the loans were taken by state owned companies. In addition a 127.5 million dollar loan was taken by Sun Travel Shiyam with a guarantee from the government. Most of the loans were taken in 2018.
Majority of the loans were borrowed from Chinese banks.
