Government has spent MVR 315 million in the past three months to service loans according to the financial information published by the Finance Ministry.
It shows that in the last three months, most of the budget was spent on recurrent expenditure. So far 4.1 billion Rufiyaa has been spent on recurrent expenditure and 999 million Rufiyaa was spent on different projects.
Till March, the majority of the revenue to the state is from various taxes. Government earned 4.6 billion Rufiyaa from taxes.
The government plans to spend 8.8 billion Rufiyaa on various projects this year. Seven billion Rufiyaa will be spent on projects conducted under public sector investment program.
