Doctors have advised to get vaccinated for influenza as it is spreading in the Maldives during these days.
In last year one person died from influenza. In 2017, 200 people contracted the virus and 6 people died.
According to HPA, in the coming days there is high chance that the flu will spread. Dr.Ahmed Faisal a pediatrician working at IGMH said that everyone above the age of 6 months should get vaccinated.
In addition, Dr.Afeef another pediatrician said that those who are vaccinated has very little chance of contracting the flu and even if they get the flu, it will be very easy to recover.
