Elections Commission of the Maldives has decided to submit a billon regulating campaign financing to the Majlis.
According the EC, they have decided to submit a bill in coordination with Transparency Maldives and UNDP.
EC’s member Ahmed Akram said that the campaign financing law of Philippines is one of the best legislations and they will model the Maldivian bill based on that.
He said that such a law will also provide protection to the candidates.
