Parliament committee passes to give a salary of MVR 35,000 to former vice presidents

Parliament committee has passed to give a salary of MVR 35,000 to former vice presidents of Maldives.

However to be eligible for the salary, they should not have been convicted of any crime. The bill was submitted to the parliament by MP Ahmed Saleem.

According to the bill, if former vice presidents are in any other salaried job of the state, they will not get the MVR 35,000 pension. Also they should be provided with personal security if required.

In addition, the bill states that former vice presidents should be given health care from Maldives and abroad if required. Also they should be provided with transport services by security services.
