The financial statistics published by Finance Ministry has shown that the state earned MVR 7 billion in the first quarter of this year.
By 18th April 2019, the state earned MVR 7.1 billion out of which MVR 5.2 billion was from tax revenue. In addition the government earned MVR 1.5 as non-tax revenue. Within the same period the state spent MVR 6.2 billion.
A large percentage of the state revenue includes various types of taxation.
