Elections Commission of the Maldives has forwarded cases of candidates in the last parliamentary elections who did not disclose their financial statements to the prosecutor general for further action.
The official Twitter handle of the commission tweeted today stating that they have forwarded the cases of candidates who failed to disclose the financial information as stated in the electoral legislation.
The deadline to submit the financial documents were until 12:00 am of last Saturday.
According to the commission 347 candidates submitted the statements and 36 candidates did not submit it.
