The South Command of MNDF has helped an injured person onboard a Norwegian cargo ship. MNDF assisted to take the person to S.Hithadhoo regional hospital.
MNDF received information about the person at 0910 hours yesterday morning. With the permission of the authorities, the boat entered Maldivian territory, to 2 miles off the coast of Hithadhoo and MNDF coast guard fetched the person.
The 49-year-old Pilipino man fell of a ladder on the boat and suffered injuries due to that. The man was taken to Hithadhoo by 1620 hours.
