Former President Maumoon Abdul Gayyooz has stated that according to astronomical calculations the moon for Ramadan will not be visible to any Islamic countries after sunset today.
He tweeted saying that hence the first day of Ramadan for the year 1440 will be Monday the 6th of May.
President Maumoon wished all the people in the occasion of Ramadan and many people wished him as well. In addition some people expressed sadness since Maumoon was in jail in the last Ramadan.
