The Finance Ministry has released PPM’s budget to the party. According to the political party’s act, a certain percentage of the state budget should be allocated for political parties.
Out of the 18 million that should be given to PPM, the Finance Ministry withheld 8.6 million Rufiyaa until today stating that it was due to the case filed at the court regarding the leadership of PPM.
In the last presidential elections, PPM owed 3.8 million Rufiyaa to the Island Aviation. In addition the party faced financial difficulties and had to disconnect its phone lines as well.
According to PPM, they have received a letter from the Finance Ministry stating that they have asked MMA to deposit the money.
