Indian PM Narendra Modi have said that his visit shows the importance of strong relations between Maldives and India.
After arriving in the Maldives, he tweeted in Dhivehi saying that his visit shows the importance of strong relations between the two countries and the willingness from India to strengthen relations from various areas.
PM Modi’s visit is his first official visit abroad after assuming office for a second time. He is accompanied with senior Indian government officials.
Various agreements will be signed between Maldives and India, during the visit.
