Ooredoo Maldives has introduced e-sim service to Maldives.
A ceremony was held at Dharubaaruge today to launch the service. The service was officially launched by Tourism Minister Ali Waheed and CEO of Ooredoo Maldives Najib Khan.
This technology allows smart phones to use a digital sim. Using this technology, 9 numbers can be used on one phone. According to Ooredoo this will be very useful for businessmen and those who travel frequently.
Speaking at the ceremony, Najib Khan said that it is the aim of Ooredoo to launch new service to Maldives. He said that with this new service, the goal of digitalizing Maldives will be achieved.
Speaking today at the ceremony, Tourism Minister Ali Waheed said that the work done by Ooredoo in introducing new technologies to Maldives is exemplary. He said that this new e-sim service will be really beneficial for the tourism industry.
According to Ooredoo, prepaid, postpaid and tourist plans can be used via e-sim service. The service will only be available on phones with this technology. Some phones with this technology include iPhone X, iPhone XR and Google Pixel 3.
