The useable reserve of Maldives has decreased for the third consecutive month.
According to records of the Finance Ministry, by the end of January the useable reserve was 317.9 million dollars. By the end of February, it decreased to 295.3 million dollars.
The reserve decreased in March and April as well. At the end of April, the useable reserve was 250.2 million dollars.
Previously the government stated that the reserve decreased due to a currency swap agreement with India.
By the end of 2018, the useable reserve was 281.4 million dollars and total reserve was 757.8 million dollars.
