ACC finishes investigation of 157 cases in the first quarter of this year

Anti-Corruption Commission of the Maldives has finished investigating 157 cases in the first quarter of this year.

Within the same period in 2018, the commission investigated 288 cases. The commission has decided to forward one case to the Prosecutor General’s office this year while last year within the same period the commission sent three cases to the PG. 

Out of the 157 cases the commission found that only one case involves corruption. 

In the first quarter of this year the Commission sent 82 notices to 47 state offices to rectify various issues.
