Former Vice President Adheeb has been freed. He was serving a 15 day jail sentence for contempt of court.
Adheeb was sentenced up to 30 years in total for his involvement in various crimes. However the High Court nullified all the verdicts.
It is not clear when exactly he was freed but according to Maldives Correctional Service, Adheeb is not in their custody.
Even though Adheeb is free, since the Supreme Court has ordered to withhold Adheeb’s passport, he cannot leave Male’.
