Tourist arrivals to Maldives has increased in August this year compared to the same period last year.
Speaking at a press conference held at the Tourism Ministry, Minister Ali Waheed stated that in August 2019, the tourist arrival has increased by 16.6% compared to the same period last year.
Ali Waheed said that tourists from the Americas increased by 25.5% and that it is a huge achievement as it is an emerging market.
Most tourists to the Maldives are from China. Second greatest number of tourists are from India while Italy holds the third position.
