Maldives Inland Revenue Authority MIRA has collected MVR 53,028,904 Rufiyaa as green tax in October.
According to the statistics published by Finance Ministry, the highest amount of green tax was paid from resorts. Resorts paid 48,460,386,.93 million Rufiyaa as green tax while hotels paid MVR 1,303,689.72 as green tax. Meanwhile guest houses paid 1,778,853.29 Rufiyaa.
Resorts, hotels and guest houses in Male’ atoll paid the highest amount as green tax while Meemu Atll paid the lowest.
Till October 2019, MVR 780,316,926.50 was collected as green tax. The money is used to conduct various projects by the government.
