Home Minister Imran Abdullah has stated that former President Abdullah Yameen Abdul Gayyoom is being kept in the same cell as where former President Nasheed and former President Maumoon were kept during former President Yameen’s administration.
Imran tweeted today saying that they have improved the quality of the said cell. He made this statement after the president of PNC Abdul Raheem accused the government of mistreating the former president.
The Home Ministry also issued a statement denying these allegations and stated that all the rights enshrined in the constitution are guaranteed to the former president. The ministry stated that the former president nor his family has not complained the ministry of any ill treatments.
