Health Ministry has stated that they have quarantined a youth who came from China.
Speaking at a conference held on Thursday evening the Health Minister stated that the person was quarantined because that person went to a meat market in China. He said that they did not see any signs of the disease from him and that he is doing well.
The minister said that they wanted to test the young man because he visited a meat market in China. He said that the man was suffering from a cold when he arrived in the Maldives and consulted a doctor to see whether he bad fever. However he did not have fever.
Ameen said that they only decided to test him because he went to the meat market.
“He only had a cold. He does not have any other serious condition. He could have been treated at home under normal conditions. He went home and took off his clothes and was in his room. He did not contact anyone else” said Ameen.
Ameen said that in the province he stayed only 101 people were contracted with the virus and no one has died so far.
