Dhiraagu has joined a multi party agreement to connect the Maldives to Sri Lanka through a second fiber optic submarine cable.
Under this project, Dhiraagu will invest USD 8.4 million dollars and will own 45% shares of the cable. Meanwhile Ooredoo Maldives will also own 45% shares of the cable and Dialog Axiata Plc of Sri Lanka will own 10% of the cable.
According to Dhiraagu, the new Cable System will complement the existing submarine cable connectivity, and will improve the network diversity and resilience.
