Sumon Mia a Bangladeshi citizen has been sentenced to 15 years in jail for murder.
He was sentenced to 15 year for murdering Hawwa Zuha, in 2016. He had sexual intercourse with Zuha and then strangled her to death. Sumon confessed to the crime.
Judge Ibrahim Ali noted that, Sumon Mia confessed to the crime and the doctor’s report also shows that the cause of death was strangulation. The judge said that the evidence proves that Sumon killed Zuha.
The judge ordered to jail Sumon to 15 years and also to pay 100,000 to Zuha’s family within a month. In addition he was ordered to fast for two consecutive months.
