Speaker of the parliament Mohamed Nasheed has been accused of taking a 13 million dollar bribe from Trans Maldivian Airways.
President Nasheed was accused of taking this bribe by MP Mohammed Nasheed Abdullah of Nolhivaram constituency.
MP Nasheed stated that Nasheed is trying to use the parliament members to suppress the corruption allegations.
“The law will catch up to you” said MP Nasheed.
If the accusations are true, the people of Maldives will lose 825 million dollars in 15 years.
The anti corruption commission of the Maldives has initiated an investigation on the matter.
